100th Epilepsy Monitor Funded
At Epilepsy Lifestyle we are delighted to have funded our 100th Epilepsy Monitor. As a charity, which was established less than three years ago, we set out to fund a handful of potentially life saving epilepsy monitors to children and adults living locally in East Sussex with an epilepsy diagnosis. Little did we know that in such a short time we would be funding these monitors on a national basis and would have granted over 100 pieces of equipment.
Marie Baker, the Founder of Epilepsy Lifestyle, is completely overwhelmed by the success of the charity’s ‘Night Time Monitoring Programme’ but not by the need of their beneficiaries. ‘We know from our previous work in the charity sector just how important these monitors are. It was incredibly important to us when we set up Epilepsy Lifestyle that it was accessible to everyone no matter their age or their epilepsy diagnosis. We also wanted to ensure that our beneficiaries were given a varied choice of monitoring equipment. Now that we are working nationally we can provide these essential pieces of equipment to anyone who is diagnosed with epilepsy. So often in the past certain groups were marginalised either by age or diagnosis so to be so fully inclusive within the epilepsy sector is just amazing’.
We could not do this invaluable work without the support of our funders and with our third birthday coming up in March we have high hopes for the future, a future that emphasises improving the lives of children and adults diagnosed with epilepsy all across the United Kingdom
